Can You Resist Puppy Eyes on Guide Dogs Day
It’s hard to resist those puppy dog eyes… and this Guide Dogs Day, people are being urged to support Australia’s hardest working puppy eyes and donate to Guide Dogs SA/NT.
Guide Dog puppy eyes aren’t just adorable, they’re life changing. Guide Dogs provide independence, safety and freedom for people living with low vision and blindness.
Guide Dogs Day is coming up on 29 April and all donations will be matched by Guide Dogs SA/NT's generous partners, including Specsavers, Adelaide Airport and William Buck.
Guide Dogs SA/NT CEO Dan Cox said were calling on people to support Australia’s hardest-working puppy eyes on their most important day of the year, as Guide Dogs continued to help people to live their best lives.
“We’d like everyone to get involved – not just dog lovers – and that could mean donating to Guide Dogs SA/NT or buying Guide Dogs products,” Mr Cox said.
“Our Guide Dogs provide independence, safety, and freedom, helping those who live with low vision or blindness to achieve their goals and to live the life they want to lead, and we’re recognising that on Guide Dogs Day.”
On 29 April, key landmarks around the city will light up in orange to celebrate, including Adelaide Oval, the Riverbank Precinct Pedestrian Bridge, Adelaide Railway Station, Parliament House, Adelaide Town Hall and Adelaide Festival Centre.
“It takes more than $50,000 to raise and train a Guide Dog and on Guide Dogs Day we’re calling on people to look into those puppy eyes and recognise the essential work they undertake,” Mr Cox said.
Specsavers are currently doubling donations for a limited time. Make a donation, or discover more about Guide Dogs Day here.
